An agreement on the active virtual sharing mode allows Masmovil to deploy its 5G networks in 4,500 locations in Spain. These locations will cover 35% of the Spanish population in 40 major cities. The 5G agreement between Masmovil and Orange Spain is valid until 2028, and can also be extended for another 5 years.

Currently, Orange Spain offers its 5G services in 298 countries and cities in 38 provinces of Spain. By the end of 2021, Orange Spain aims to roll out 1,500 new sites in the country. This will help the operator meet its goal of offering its 5G services to 400 cities by the end of this year.
Orange Spain will use a combination of non-autonomous 5G (NSA) and Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS) technologies to achieve its 51% population coverage target. In the future, the Spanish telecommunications company plans and expects to reach 90% of the Spanish population in 2022.
