Free BSNL 4G SIM card offer extended until March 31st
Since 2018 BSNL has been offering 4G services in the Kerala telecommunications circle. As BSNL in the past offered 2G and 3G services, customers need to switch to a 4G SIM card to enjoy high-speed data services. BSNL usually charges Rs 20 for a new 4G SIM card, but customers can get it for free until March 31, 2021. The offer is available to new, existing and MNP users. Keep in mind that new users and MNPs will need to make a first top-up (FRC) of at least Rs 100.
The state-owned telecom company has decided to expand its free 4G SIM card offering to win over its customer base and increase revenue. BSNL Kerala Division is also looking to meet the monthly SIM sales target with this offering.
BSNL allows free call forwarding
The troubled telecommunications operator also made the call forwarding facility free in the telecommunications circles of Chennai and Tamil Nadu. BSNL users can now use the call forwarding service with no activation fee. All call forwarding features are offered free of charge. As a reminder, the BSNL Landline / Mobile / Other Carrier Call Forwarding feature has applicable call charges depending on your plan.
BSNL states that forwarding calls from BSNL mobile to another number is treated as an outgoing call and is charged according to the gift / STV / plan rate, but is offered for free in the future.
For example, a customer with an unlimited free voice plan or unlimited free voice STV, the cost of outgoing calls is zero. Likewise, forwarding calls to another number is also treated as an outgoing call and is charged as zero. Also, if a customer has a 106 plan or another plan with no remaining voice gifts, call forwarding is charged at the voice rate for the outgoing call on that particular plan.
