Customers who subscribed for 199 postpaid plan from telecom operator of bsnl are generally looking for basic benefits, especially unlimited calling.
Public telecommunications company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited - BSNL has once again revised the Rs 199 postpaid plan to match Reliance Jio's similarly priced plan. Revised in December 2020, BSNL offered unlimited calling over the network and only 300 minutes from the network for a full month.
Since the latest revision, BSNL's Rs 199 postpaid plan will offer truly unlimited voice calls to any network in India including Mumbai and Delhi on the MTNL network. The other benefits of the Rs 199 plan remain the same: 100 SMS per day and 25GB of data with transfer up to 75GB.
Reliance Jio also revised its postpaid Rs 199 plan to offer unlimited voice calls to all networks across the country. So the BSNL review comes at a good time and could help telecoms add more subscribers in the coming months. The revised postpaid plan will take effect on February 1, 2021.
BSNL 199 postpaid plan now offers unlimited calling with no limits
As a reminder, BSNL started offering unlimited voice calling with all plans in January 2021. However, the 199 postpaid plan was dropped for some reason. BSNL postpaid plan priced at Rs 399 or more received the revision immediately. BSNL limited voice calls to 250 minutes per day with all plans above Rs 399. However, the 199 rupee plan offered unlimited calls over the network and 300 minutes off the network, along with the daily limit of 250 minutes.
According to the latest update from BSNLTARIFF, 199 postpaid plan of bsnl will now offer the benefit of unlimited calling own network and other network. After the elimination of Interconnect Usage Charges (IUC), Reliance Jio also offers unlimited voice calls to any network with the postpaid Rs 199 plan.
With this new change, BSNL far surpasses Reliance Jio. Both plans include unlimited calling, 25GB of data, and 100 SMS per day. Although BSNL also has a data transfer feature, there is nothing as such in the Jio Rs 199 postpaid plan.
But the telecommunications company run by Mukesh Ambani provides free access to its content apps like JioTV and JioCinema, while BSNL users don't get such benefits.
Customers who opt for Rs 199 postpaid plans from telecom operators are generally looking for basic benefits, especially unlimited calling. And it's good to see that BSNL is making customer-centric changes that will help it get more subscribers.
