BSNL 485 recharge plan is available online at portal.bsnl.in/myportal/quickrecharge.do and offline with various modes for activation.
BSNL Recharge plan voucher 485 gives 1.5GB of data per day with 90 days validity extension period.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is the only telecom operator in India at the moment offering competitive prepaid plans. For example, you have a 1GB daily data plan that is valid for 30 days for just over Rs 150. After the rate hike in December 2019, in addition to Reliance Jio, other telecom companies (Airtel and Vodafone Idea) are offering 1 GB of daily data valid for 28 days at Rs 219.
Jio has a similar plan, in fact a better plan with 1.5 GB of daily data at only 199 rupees. Beating Reliance Jio is BSNL, which has a 153 rupee recharge with a 1GB daily data advantage. In addition to plans priced under Rs 200, BSNL also has a Rs 485 prepaid recharge that is valid for 90 days, something no other telecom company offers at the moment. The BSNL Rs 485 prepaid plan includes 1.5GB of daily data and unlimited benefits for voice calling.
BSNL prepaid recharge 485: detailed benefits
BSNL's Rs 485 plan is an unlimited combo offer with 1.5GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls to any network with no FUP limits and benefits of 100 SMS per day. As BSNL recently reviewed, all of their unlimited combo plans offer unlimited calling benefits without FUP limits. Previously, BSNL had an FUP limit of 250 minutes per day on each prepaid and postpaid plan, but it has now changed to remain competitive in the industry.
The data rate will be reduced to 40Kbps after the 1.5GB daily limit. The plan is valid for 90 days from the recharge date. For the uninitiated, private telecom companies offer prepaid plans that are valid for 84 days, but BSNL's plan offers another six days of validity.
By contrast, the Bharti Airtel Rs 598 prepaid plan comes with 1.5GB of data daily for 84 days, while Vi has a similarly priced plan. Jio's 1.5GB per day data plan costs Rs 555 and is valid for 84 days. From time to time, BSNL outperforms private telecom operators, especially in the rate planning department. The telecom company hasn't been able to add many subscribers in recent months despite such aggressive pricing plans.
The main reason BSNL doesn't add subscribers in large numbers is the lack of 4G services. The government is expected to allocate the required 4G spectrum to BSNL in the coming months and telecom will launch high-speed 4G services with affordable 4G plans across all 22 telecom circles. And yes, the voice calling benefit offered by BSNL PV 485 also applies to the Mumbai and Delhi telecom circles where MTNL operates.
