Members of the BSNL Workers Union organized a rally in support of their pending demands in Ludhiana. A large number of BSNL employees participated in the march and raised slogans against the government for failing to comply with their demands.
BSNL Employee protesters demanded the allocation of the 4G BSNL spectrum, the salary review of BSNL employees from 1 January 2017 and undue frustration of private telecommunications companies, including Reliance JIO, by the government.
While heading to BSNL employees to protest, the BSNL union leader circle and District Secretary, Avtar Singh Jhande, said the private telecommunications companies launched the 4G service four years ago, but BSNL was lagged behind in this technology due to the government's failure to assign 4G spectrum.
