One of the fastest internet service provider in India BSNL Bharat Fiber with its affordable broadband tariff plans has become popular with Home and business plans.
Government owned telecommunications in India Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited BSNL has announced that its Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) service, Bharat Fiber, now has more than one million subscribers nationwide.
BSNL introduced the Bharat Fiber service a couple of years ago and the Internet Service Provider (ISP) currently offers a wide range of plans within the service. BSNL has been a leader in the wired broadband segment for several years and currently holds a market share of more than 38% in the segment, according to data from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released latest.
BSNL's broadband speeds were often limited to the lower end of the spectrum, but that has changed in recent times as the ISP has even started delivering speeds of 300 Mbps in select cities.
BSNL Bharat Fiber: What exactly is it?
Like JioFiber and Airtel Xstream Fiber, BSNL has also called its FTTH wired broadband service Bharat Fiber. Under this brand, BSNL offers competitive broadband plans. For example, BSNL offered a Rs 849 broadband plan with 50 Mbps speed and 600GB FUP limit under the Bharat Fiber service.
At the same time, you also have basic broadband plans with speeds below 50 Mbps and not-so-impressive FUP limits. The telecom company is generating decent customer reception for the Bharat Fiber service. Overall, BSNL has 7.80 million broadband customers as of the end of September 2020.
A recent report claimed that BSNL added 88,779 new customers in October 2020, thanks to the launch of affordable Bharat Fiber plans such as Rs 449, Rs 599, Rs 799, Rs 999 and Rs 1,499. These broadband plans are on par with the benefits offered by private ISPs like JioFiber and Airtel Xstream Fiber.
The Rs 449 Bharat Fiber Basic plan has a speed of 30Mbps and an FUP limit of 3.3 TB each month, while the Rs 599 Fiber Basic Plus plan offers speeds of 60 Mbps and a FUP limit of 3.3 TB. The best part is that the plans are available in all telecom circles where BSNL provides the Bharat Fiber service. With the launch of these new plans, the company is also looking to add more than a lakh of new bsnl broadband new connections every month, which seems likely.
BSNL is also facing stiff competition from JioFiber and Airtel Xstream Fiber with plans starting at just Rs 399 and up to Rs 3,999 and more. There was a delay from BSNL to launch 1Gbps broadband plan under bharat fiber service and the ISP does not appear to be launching the fastest broadband plan anytime soon.
