From BSNL 251 Work from Home voucher offers 70GB of data, slightly more than what private telecom companies offer with their similarly priced plan.
State owned Telecommunications company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited - BSNL has introduced "Work from Home" prepaid STVs to compete with private telecom companies. Data consumption in India has been on the rise for a few years and the pandemic has forced many employees to work from home, resulting in an increase in data usage.
Private telecom companies phased out data-only plans a couple of years ago, as standard prepaid plans now offer daily data benefits. With nearly enough daily data profit, customers no longer worry about reloading data-only STVs. However, the pandemic forced telecom companies to report data packets, albeit under a different name: work-from-home plans.
BSNL, which hires companies like Airtel, Jio and Vodafone Idea, has also introduced three data-only STV Work from Home priced at Rs 56, Rs 151 and Rs 251. Read on to find out more about these plans in detail.
BSNL Work from Home prepaid STVs: Everything you need to know
As mentioned above, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has three prepaid STVs aimed at users who work from home. These are basically just prepaid data-only plans with no voice calls or SMS benefits. Starting with the Rs 56 STV Work from Home, it offers a total of 10GB of data valid for ten days from the recharge date.
Rs 151 STV comes with 40GB of data advantage, while Rs 251 STV comes with 70GB of data advantage. Prepaid STVs of Rs 151 and Rs 251 are valid for 28 days. BSNL should have offered validity for more than 28 days, at least the validity of these STVs should have been the validity of the existing prepaid plan.
Earlier this month, BSNL added ZING Music app subscription to these STVs working from home to make the overall benefits enticing for customers.
BSNL work from home STV against Airtel, Jio and Vi's STV
Reliance Jio, as usual, offers three prepaid work-from-home plans priced at Rs 151, Rs 201, and Rs 251, with benefits of 30GB, 40GB and 50GB of data. Airtel and VI are offering a prepaid data package Rs 251 with a 50GB benefit.
There also has a prepaid data-only plan of Rs 351 with 100GB of data.
As you can see, BSNL has an edge over other telecom companies as its Rs 251 recharge offers 70GB of data over the 50GB advantage offered by private telecom companies. In Kerala and other circles where BSNL has a 4G network, Rs 251 package offers 4G data on par with private telecommunications.
