Under BSNL tariff plans broadband new Fiber Basic Plus fiber over plan launched and offers speeds of 60 Mbps up to 3300 GB.
BSNL is aggressively launching new broadband plans in the country to address JioFiber and Airtel Xstream Fiber. The government-owned PSU has launched a new "Fiber Basic Plus" plan at Rs 599, replacing the Rs 499 Airtel Xstream Fiber plan. BSNL's new plan offers decent speeds of 60 Mbps and also offers unlimited data benefits.
The best part is that BSNL is rolling out the new plan in all circles where it currently offers BSNL Fiber to the Home (FTTH) services. However, the broadband plan will not be available on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. In addition to launching the Rs 599 plan, the Internet Service Provider (ISP) has also made the Rs 449 plan available in all environments. The new plan will be available to customers starting November 11, 2020.
BSNL Fiber Basic Plus plan: what it offers
BSNL's brand new Fiber Basic Plus broadband plan offers speeds of 60 Mbps up to 3300GB. However, the ISP markets the plan as an unlimited data plan similar to rival broadband operators. Once users exhaust their monthly FUP limit, speeds will be reduced to 2 Mbps. However, please note that there is no limit on the number of users who can download or upload at 2 Mbps speeds after exceeding the FUP limit.
Users who choose this broadband plan will also receive 24 hours of unlimited calling to any network in India. The monthly price of the plan is Rs 599, excluding tax. Unfortunately, BSNL hasn't released the long-term package plan, so you'll have to choose the monthly option itself.
At the time of writing, we have no information on the OTT subscriptions offered by the ISP with the new Rs 599 plan. BSNL TARIFF reports this news first and is independently verified by TelecomTariff.
As noted, BSNL is also reviewing the Rs 449 base fiber plan.
The entry-level plan will now be available in all cities except Andaman and Nicobar. Previously, the Rs 449 broadband plan was limited to select cities. It offers speeds of 30 Mbps up to 3.3TB and is a direct competitor of JioFiber's Rs 399 plan. The plan price of Rs 449 will change after the customer's first six months of subscription, BSNL said.
