The country's largest telecommunications operator, Vodafone Idea has
lost 57.87 lakh mobile subscribers, which in February reduced its total
customer base to 40.93 million and followed by Tata Teleservices, which
lost 11.47 lakh mobile customers, Airtel lost 49.896 subscribers, MTNL
4.652 and Reliance Communication 3.611 subscribers.
According to the monthly report published by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) for the month of February.
BSNL added about 9 lakhs of new mobile customers, bringing its total subscribe base to 11.62 crore in February.
"BSNL is the only operator taking Jio in the mobile market has grabbed mobile customers. Our services show that customers trust BSNL. We can compete and win customers with our much improved 3G network. In our effort to provide a service, all our officials and employees are together "said BSNL CMD Shri Anupam Shrivastava.
The state-owned company is competing in the telecom market with the 3G network, while all other operators are in charge of the spectrum for 4G services. A proposal submitted to the government to allocate the spectrum for 4G services through a capital infusion in 2017. The government has yet to make the final decision.

Landline connections in the country have declined marginally with BSNL losing about a lakh of connections. Private operators Bharti Airtel and Vodafone won 42,456 and 17,563 fixed-line telephony customers, respectively, in February.
The broadband subscriber base in the country has grown by 1.89 percent to over 55 million from 54 crore during the period.
Broadband wireless connections dominated the segment with 53.1 subscribers in February.
Reliance Jio led the market with broadband customers of 29.72 million next Bharti Airtel is followed with 11.21 crore customers, Vodafone Idea stood at 11 crore and finally BSNL with 2.1 crore and Tata Teleservices Group with 21.7 lakh broadband subscribers.
