Top Telecom operator in India Bharati Airtel has announced to offer 3G speed data on 2G data packs to its customers.
Recently Vodafone and Aitel have been slashed their data prices rapidly to counter Reliance Jio entered in Indian telecom market to gear up telecom subscribers of other telecom companies offering high speed 4G data upto 3 months after purchasing LYF, LG, Micromax etc., smartphones form its stores or any outlets.
As per latest information, Airtel prepaid customer received a message where SMS touts 2G data packs as 3G. In that message Airtel requesting to enable 3G/HSPA mode on their smartphone to experience 3G speed data.
Airtel message (SMS) read as:
‘You are eligible to experience high speed internet on your current 2G pack. Go to your handset settings and select 3G/WCDMA to avail the offer’.
Airtel sources said that the offer is limited to 2G customers, but the company is trying to share it with most of the customers. Those customers who received the above SMS need to recharge 2G data pack to enjoy 3G speed on their mobile device after enabling 3G settings.
However, Airtel has not confirmed this offer officially but the message received by a prepaid customer reveals that Airtel will give tough time to its fellow operators such as Vodafone and Idea.
