Synopsis
- BSNL has made a big change for its prepaid customers.
- PSU early to introduce its BSNL Tariff 4G prepaid plans in India.
- BSNL will offer 40 Kbps data after FUP data consumption.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the state telecommunications operator, has optimized all of its bsnl tariff prepaid plans. The prepaid plans offered by the telecom company would provide smooth speed once the fair use policy (FUP) data limit is reached.
This simply means that once you run out of the high-speed data promised by your prepaid recharge plan, the speed of your prepaid data will drop to a steady level. If you are a BSNL mobile user, then you know that different tariff plans offer different benefits. In case you are a prepaid user, there is one thing you would be very familiar with: reducing the speed once the FUP data has been consumed.
BSNL reduced internet speed after consuming FUP data usage
As of November 1, 2022, BSNL has streamlined all of its prepaid plans. Under the new rules, the speed of the Internet plan would drop to 40 Kbps for prepaid users once all FUP data is exhausted. All prepaid bsnl tariff plans listed on the BSNL official website bsnl.co.in now reflect the change. BSNL will now say that all of its prepaid mobile tariff plans come with unlimited data but with reduced speed to 40Kbps once the daily data limit is reached.
This could be a big change for many prepaid BSNL consumers. The telecom company is trying to bring prepaid plans of 4G network to users as quickly as possible. According to the words of telecommunications minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, BSNL would bring 4G prepaid plans to India in early 2023.
BSNL India's official Twitter account also tweeted that the installation of homegrown 4G equipment would begin from February to March 2023. It would be Interesting to see if it really happens this time or if India will have to wait longer to test BSNL's homegrown 4G network services. For now, to top up with BSNL prepaid plans, you can go to the telco website or the Selfcare app i.e selfcare.bsnl.co.in.
