Under 5G Mobile services, China Broadnet's strategy with the 5G mobile offering is different from what the three major operators are doing. Instead of focusing too much on the mobile services business with 5G, China Broadnet will harness the power of the 5G network for television and interactive streaming services.
Synopsis
- China Broadnet will also offer AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) services to customers with its 5G network.
- It is worth noting that until earlier this month China Broadnet operated as China Radio and TV as well as China Broadcasting Network Corporation (CBN).
- China Mobile, one of the largest Chinese telecom operators, is implementing, operating and maintaining China Broadnet's 5G network.
Just a couple of days ago, China got its fourth telecom operator, China Broadnet. The new company has now activated 5G networks. China Broadnet was previously known as China Radio and Television, and the company had already received the 5G license in June 2019 before formal launch in 2020.
China Broadnet's strategy with the 5G mobile offering is different from what the three major operators are doing. Instead of focusing too much on the mobile services business with 5G, China Broadnet will harness the power of the 5G network for television and interactive streaming services.
China Broadnet will offer AR and VR services alongside a mobile network
The Xinhua news agency said that along with a mobile network, China Broadnet will also provide AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) services to customers with its 5G network.
It is worth noting that until earlier this month China Broadnet operated as China Radio and TV as well as China Broadcasting Network Corporation (CBN). The company changes its name and launches the 5G network to offer customers a new type of radio and television communication network.
In fact, this is a good strategy for the company instead of directly competing with the three existing operators in their own game. China Broadnet is playing a completely different game; it's only doing it with the power of 5G.
China Mobile, a major Chinese telecom operator, is deploying, operating and maintaining China Broadnet's 5G network, TeleGeography said. China Broadnet is currently a very small player compared to other telecom operators. But the company's unique strategy for the market could soon put it in the leagues of the big players. However, China Broadnet will have to build its 5G network, in the long run, to be successful. You can't depend on China Mobile or other players forever for your 5G network.
