In addition to a five-year warranty on STB, all new connections will receive a free channel package for one month.
D2H, owned by Dish TV, has begun offering a five-year warranty on all set-top boxes (STBs) available on its platform. In the past, we have rated Dish TV as the best DTH operator in India in terms of STB warranty. And continue with the new patterns.
Dish TV offers a three year warranty on its STBs, while the D2h 'STBs have a five year warranty, which is arguably the first in the industry. In the past, we've seen Tata Sky offer a three-year warranty on all STBs, but the company revised the one-year policy again. On the other hand, Airtel Digital TV and Sun Direct only offer a one year STB warranty. In addition to reviewing STB's warranty policy, D2h has also started selling STBs "with" and "without" antennas.
Revised D2h set-top box warranty policy to offer 5 years of free service
Based on the new information available on the D2h website, all new connection brackets will receive a five-year warranty on the set-top box. The DTH operator offers four STBs: the d2h Stream Android TV-based set-top box priced at Rs 3,999, the d2h HD digital set-top box with radio frequency remote control priced at Rs 1,799, the d2h HD digital set-top box priced at Rs 1,799. Rs 1,599 and SD d2h digital set-top box retail for Rs 1,499. The above prices do not include taxes.
As noted, D2h now provides STB with and without antenna. Customers can choose the option when booking a new connection on the website. If the customer chooses an antenna, the company will supply remote control, STB, antenna, LMP and cable (ten meters). In case you don't have the antenna option, users will get only remote control and STB.
In addition to the five-year warranty on STB, all new connections will receive a free channel package for one month. Even though it is the SD decoder, the other three STBs will come with a one month HD channel package including Network Capacity Fee (NCF). Finally, D2h also claims that it will provide a free install on all new connections and that it is also a promising install in six hours. All STB D2hs are equipped with unlimited recording functions.
Dish TV is losing market share every quarter. In the next few quarters, we may see Airtel Digital TV take over Dish TV as the second largest DTH operator in the country. Tata Sky is currently the leading DTH operator in India with a market share of around 32%.
