Private telecommunications in India Bharti Airtel started Xstream Fiber services in 10 cities across in India, including Shimla, Gorakhpur, Jodhpur and Jhansi.
In April airtel Xstream fiber review, the company pointed out on its website that Airtel Xstream Fiber services would be launched in over 25 cities in India. The cities included Dharamshala, Tiruptai and Udaipur with Airtel highlighting the cities labeled "Launching soon".
Airtel has now removed the "Launching soon" tag in more than 10 cities. Basically, most of the newly launched cities have Airtel Xstream advance rental plans with a base plan speed of 16 Mbps.
Airtel Xstream fiber broadband pre-booking in over 10 cities
Xstream Fiber services from the Airtel company started in Gorakhpur, Aligarh, Jagadhari, Jodhpur, Jhansi, Kakinada, Kolhapur, Mirzapur, Mathura, Shimla, Thanjavur, Shahjahanpur and Yamunanagar.However, cities with Airtel Xstream Fiber standard plans include Aligarh, Mathura, Mirzapur and Shahjahanpur. The standard Xstream Fiber Pan-India plans with four levels include Basic, Entertainment, Premium and VIP.
The standard base plan allows users to browse up to 100 Mbps speeds of up to 150 GB of data for Rs 799 per month. The entertainment level at 999 Rs per month allows users to browse up to 200 Mbps up to 300 GB. The Premium Rs 1499 per month plan allows users to browse at speeds of 300 Mbps up to 500 GB. The first VIP plan allows users to surf up to 1Gbps with no data limits for Rs 3999 per month.
Airtel offers users to make unlimited local and STD calls to any network in India on all their Airtel Xstream Fiber plans along with complementary access to Airtel Xstream. In addition, the Amazon Prime Video and Zee5 subscription are enabled on plans priced at Rs 999 and above.
In the meantime, the company has launched its services with advance rental plans in Gorakhpur, Jagadhari, Jhansi, Jodhpur, Kakinada, Kolhapur, Shimla, Thanjavur and Yamunanagar. Advance rental plans are generally offered to cities where Airtel Xstream Fiber services are offered in franchising with Local Cable Operator (LCO).
Airtel, in its fourth quarter earnings ending March 2020, said 11 Indian cities and nearly 180,000 homes have been connected through franchises.
As reported by media in June, Airtel was ready to expand its advance billing module to more cities. Similar to pan-India plans, advance billing markets have four levels including Basic, Standard, Ultra and Premium.
The basic plan allows users to browse at up to 16 Mbps speeds of up to 100 GB for Rs 599 per month. The Standard and Ultra plans allow users to consult unlimited data at speeds of 40 Mbps and 100 Mbps respectively.
Fixed monthly charges for standard plan is available at Rs 799, while the Ultra plan is available at at Rs 1099 per month. The Premium level allows users to browse up to 300Mbps up to 600GB of data for 1,599 rupees per month.
Similar to standard pan-India plans, Airtel allows users to make unlimited local and STD calls on their advance rental plans along with free access to Airtel Xstream. Amazon Prime Video and Zee5 subscriptions are offered on Ultra and Premium plans.
It should also be noted that advance billing levels, including Basic, Standard, Ultra and Premium, are labeled Basic, Entertainment, Premium and VIP on the Airtel website.
However, the company in its flyers distributed in several newly launched markets has promoted its plan levels such as Basic, Standard, Ultra and Premium. The company is also said to offer a 15% discount on annual plans, while a 7.50% discount applies to the six-month subscription.
In the remaining 11 cities Advance billing plans are also started, like Prayagraj, Rajamundry, Nashik, Alwar, Sikar, Bareilly, Dehradun, Katra, and Jammu.
Airtel is ready to expand Xstream Fiber services in more cities
The company continues to list several other cities with an "launching soon" tag on its website which includes Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Bundi, Dharamshala, Ghazipur, Hosur, Kota, Rohtak, Tirupati and Udaipur.The company is expected to launch its Xstream Fiber services in cities labeled "early launch" in the coming weeks. While Airtel continues to highlight Pan-India's standard plans in all cities labeled "early launch", the company said, "Plans may change at launch."
