Bharti Airtel, the leading telecom operator of Sunil Mittal, has become the first of many telecommunications companies to start implementing 4G services in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. With this launch, the company has connected the Island with the digital highway. It is worth noting that before this, the residents of Andaman and Nicobar were limited to the use of slow Internet services that did not facilitate the rapid Internet access that the rest of the country was enjoying. But with this new launch of Airtel 4G services, archipelago residents can take advantage of digital services such as HD video streaming, super fast downloads and uploads and much more.
Island connectivity is an important step forward for Airtel
Interestingly, 4G services were officially launched on the island by the honorable member Sh. Bishnu Pada Ray and Smt. Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Government from India through a 4G video call. During the launch, Telecom's secretary, Aruna Sundararajan, said the 4G network for Andaman and Nicobar islands is another big achievement towards the realization of the connected digital vision of India. The secretary added his words saying: 'I congratulate the Airtel team for leading the implementation of 4G LTE services in remote areas and providing the features of mobile-Internet services to everyone.' I hope the company ensure full support and its efforts to provide highspeed Internet access to all.'
4G FREE SIM available to subscribers of Airtel Andaman and Nicobar mobile user
It is worth noting that, in the first days, Airtel's 4G services will only be available in Port Blair and will gradually expand to other parts of the island. Airtel subscribers can replace their existing SIM with a Free 4G SIM card. Customer need to recharge their numbers with Airtel 4G Prepaid plans or opt for the postpaid plans that are included with the contents of Netflix, Amazon and Zee5. The Airtel 4G network will be available to consumers for use in dongles and hot-spots.
