BSNL introduced new Short USSD code for activation of data services from BSNL mobile as per the guidelines from TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India).
Public Sector Unit (PSU) Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced new Toll-Free number from 1st September, 2015 for mobile data services activation.

By default GPRS service not enabled with 2G/3G mobile connections customer have to send SMS to activate GPRS services keyword – START to 1925. Existing BSNL customers can enjoy uninterrupted internet service on their BSNL Prepaid mobile number without any problem. The customer who were on BSNL’s network can avail this services activate automatically.
To reduce number of complaints to protect customers interest using wireless data (2G/3G/4G) TRAI issued instructions in last month i.e August, 2015. TRAI also clarified that the permission of a customer expires after the subscribed mobile internet limit gets exhausted. Consumers activating data special tariff vouchers or combo vouchers (Free voice calling and data usage) will be deemed to have given their permission for data services and duration of validity of data voucher on exhausting the data limited whichever is earlier said, Authority.
TRAI warned to all telecom operators that ‘No services provider shall activate or deactivate the internet services on the customer mobile connection without his clear permission.
