BSNL has announced to convert to Sulab monthly plan or withdraw rent-free landline connections of customers with an average monthly bill less than Rs.500 in all telecom circles.
Public Sector Unit (PSU) Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) earlier provided Rent-Free Landline connection (b-fone) in 2006 for customer on gesture basis. Now, the competent authority has decided to withdraw those Rent Free Landline Connections with an average monthly rental bill less than Rs.500 across the country.
Latest information reports that BSNL will switch all rent-free landline connections to Sulab monthly plan customer whose average monthly rental bill is less than Rs.500 from first week of next month onwards.
Earlier BSNL offered one additional Landline connection at free of cost i.e without monthly rental charges whose monthly rental bill (average of last six months) was Rs.1500 or more per connection. The BSNL revised the eligibility condition of average monthly rental (average of last six months) from Rs.1500 to Rs.500 per month for all existing BSNL landline customers in all telecom circles.
BSNL advised to all the rent-free landline customers based on eligibility condition convert the existing plan to Sulab plan or surrender the rent-free landline connection after completing one year.
A bulky of rent-free landline connections are still working across the country, Hence, BSNL has decided to withdraw those rent-free landline connections and conveyed necessary instructions to all telecom circle heads that “It will be ensured that every year review must be carried out and if average bill of last six months is less than Rs.500/- then fixed rental of Sulab plan converted or disconnect after completion of one year as per choice of customer’. BSNL also directed telecom circle heads that the status updated in units and forward the message to rent-free landline customers provided earlier.
