With the aim to provide network coverage to Amarnath pilgrims, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has made a special arrangement for post-paid subscribers.
Almost continuous mobile network coverage will be provided to subscribers from any other states with BSNL or MTNL post-paid mobile connection with roaming facility on their phones.
In addition, all BSNL mobile customers from J&K will also have full network coverage throughout the journey towards the Holy Cave and also in every nook and cranny of J&K.
Roaming facility for pre-paid mobile service users from other states is not allowed in J&K.
But it is available to post-paid BSNL or MTNL subscribers from all states.
To have direct and uninterrupted connection with their near and dear ones, the company has taken a firm step for the yatris and the setup was made in May.
Mobile towers at the base camps of Baltaal, Domail and Chandanwali were made operative to help the army paramilitary forces, SASB and LANGAR organizers to make better arrangements for yatris.
The BSNL has also made special arrangements at the base camps to provide pre-paid mobile connection to Yatris for which the pilgrims should carry passport size photographs, identity and address proof along with them.
